Harkins is pleased to announce that ABC Baltimore has selected Avondell II as a 2011 Award of Excellence winner in the New Project $5 - $10 Million category.

The second phase of construction at this Brightview Senior Living facility in Bel Air, Maryland included construction of a new wing of 56 high quality independent apartments and common area amenities, as well as a spectactular indoor swimming pool enclosure. The new phase also integrated impressive new landscaping and site amenities, transforming the entire facility into a single premier retirement community, now with 155 independent and 24 assisted living apartments.

Harkins’ client was Shelter Development, LLC, and the architect was Hord Coplan Macht, Inc. The same development team completed Avondell Phase I in 2007, and is currently building Brightview South River in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

The award will be presented at ABC Baltimore’s Awards of Excellence Ceremony on April 28th.
